If you live in Victoria and want to find a singing group (or any other kind of musical ensemble) that will welcome your input, you've come to the right place. We maintain a massive database of community-based music making groups that will welcome your contribution. Our main focus is on assisting individuals to find a creative outlet through making music with others, not necessarily in a professional context, nor even through public performance, but in the simple joy and sense of community that comes from people doing it together.

And as well as this essential service, we support, promote and facilitate music making among all Victorian communities.

The Push operates through a network of committees in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria and provides information and support to all young people in Victoria who wish to stage alcohol and drug free entertainment or who wish to develop a career in the music industry.

The Push has strong associations with bands, DJs, managers, booking agencies, security firms, sound & lighting companies, local, metropolitan and national radio, street press, regional and national television, mainstream media, record companies, staging companies, publicists and graphic artists.

Over the years, many successful high profile bands and artists have been discovered and many young people starting out in the music industry have gained experience and training via their involvement with The Push.

The FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands is a state-wide competeition. It showcases young and emerging Victorian performers under the age of 21. It provides a great opportunity for young bands living in both regional and metropolitan areas to perform and refine their skills. Heats are run across the state from February to August each year.
