Many organisations and associations provide music education programs for students outside normal school hours. Some of these organisations are listed below.
Melbourne Youth MusicMelbourne Youth Music Melbourne Youth Music is an Extension Education Service offered by the
Department of Education. It administers the Saturday Music School which
caters for over 450 students aged from 7 - 23 years of age in eleven different
ensembles: The Saturday Music School operates each Saturday of the school term at two campuses, Melbourne High School and the Victorian College of the Arts. Melbourne Youth Music also administers the January Music Camp each year, a non-residential summer school for instrumentalists and vocalists aged from 7 - 23 years of age.

Australian Youth Orchestra Australia Youth Orchestra Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) is supported by the Federal Government of Australia. AYO organises music education programs to support the development of young musicians. Its activities include the Australian Youth Orchestra, National Music Camp, Young Australian Concert Artists Programme and other workshops and masterclasses. Yamaha Music Education CentreYamaha Music Education Centre Yamaha offers an integrated, progressive curriculum for children aged from three years - taking children through pre-school to university entrance level. In YMEC group keyboard classes, children explore the wonderful world of music and become familiar with its various elements. The Music Wonderland course for children aged three years is a fun and engaging course designed to educate and foster a musical ear at this key developmental stage. The Junior Music course for children aged 4 to 5 years teaches the fundamentals of strong keyboard playing skills, aural ability and creativity. The Young Musicians’ Course is an entry level course for children aged six to eight years. Important musical skills including keyboard and piano performance, ensemble playing, improvisation, singing and reading music are taught in this course. Yamaha Music Schools are the largest non-government provider of music education in Australia and around the world.
