Katie Wardrobe
Midnight Music’s director Katie Wardrobe is a music technology trainer and consultant with a passion for helping music teachers. She runs hands-on professional development workshops throughout Australia and a series of after-hours online courses. Her workshops and courses focus on incorporating technology into the music curriculum through a range of creative projects.
Katie is a qualified teacher and has worked in a variety of music and education-related workplaces, including Sibelius Australia and Orchestra Victoria. She has also worked as a freelance copyist, music arranger and transcriber for more than 20 years and is an Executive member of the Music Arrangers Guild of Australia. In 2011 she released an ebook for users of open-source software program MuseScore, titled MuseScore: The Essential Beginner’s Guide.. In 2012 she wrote a keyboard and music technology workbook for middle school students titled Studio Sessions (published by MusicEDU).
In 2011 Katie was the Project Manager of the Soundhouse Alliance’s Music Technology in Education Conference and is currently working in the same role for the 2013 conference. Katie has presented at more than 30 music and education-related conferences and events and has run workshops at more than 50 schools throughout Australia.
