Lorraine MilneLorraine Milne

Lorraine Milne has worked as a musician and music educator all her adult life. She has composed, recorded and published hundreds of songs for children as well as many theatre productions including Jack Hibberd’s Dimboola. She was a founding member of the Australian Performing Group at the Pram Factory and worked for 15 years on Music Branch, Education Department of Victoria, producing new songbooks and curriculum support materials. As a composer, arranger and musical director, Milne has worked extensively with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, as well as Suzuki, Yamaha Music and AMEB.

In 1999 she was accepted as an Associate Composer by the Australian Music Centre and over the past 20 years has been writing curriculum materials and presenting Professional Development courses for Musica Viva In Schools, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Opera House, Oz Opera, Australian Society for Music Education, the Song Room and most recently, the National Gallery of Victoria. Milne has also taught on a casual basis at Melbourne University.
